Summer school bronze casting for beginners 2007

Short courses offered over six days during Easter and Summer in casting of either bronze or glass.

The course introduces methods of casting bronze using the loss wax technique and ceramic shell moulds. Over a period of five and a half days methods are discussed and demonstrated to produce a bronze casting to patination finish if required.

The techniques of wax modelling and other forms of pattern materials are shown and applied in the initial stages of the course.  Followed by shell investment mould preparation and application methods. Culminating in the heat processes of dewaxing the shell mould, filling with molten bronze and after fettling the casting colouring with patination techniques.
